Ogtay Gulaliyev - winner of the survey "Hero of the Caucasus 2016"
Baku / 10.01.17 / Turan: Azerbaijani activist Ogtay Gulaliyev won the on-line voting "Choose your hero of the South Caucasus", conducted by the famous Russian human rights Internet publication "Caucasian Knot".
Seven candidates from the number of civil society activists from the South Caucasus region who were most distinguished in the human rights field were represented.
The head of the Public Alliance "Azerbaijan without Political Prisoners" was nominated for his services in drawing up lists of political prisoners and protecting their rights.
Online voting ended on January 10. http://www.kavkaz-uzel.eu/category/66, and Ogtay Gulaliyev was the leader on the list, which was supported by 34.25% of the voting participants.
The chairman of the Vanadzor (Armenia) office of the Helsinki Civil Assembly Arthur Sakunts was the second, gaining 29.69% of the vote. The third was Tamara Mearakishvili from the Georgian region of South Ossetia. It should be noted that voting on the North and South Caucasus is held separately. -06D--
