Omicron has reached Azerbaijan
Baku/10.01.22/Turan: Omicron coronavirus strain has been detected in Azerbaijan for the first time. This is stated in a joint statement of the Ministry of Health, the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance and the Association for Management of Medical Territorial Units of Azerbaijan (TəBİB) on Monday.
A variant of SARS-CoV-2 21K Omicron was detected in 12 samples taken from people arriving from abroad. Health authorities have urged citizens to be revaccinated to raise antibody levels after the second dose or six months after recovering from the disease.
Special quarantine rules must also be followed, the report said. -16D06-

The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
