One of the five men who escaped from a mental hospital in Mashtaga is detained
One of the five sentenced men who on November 15 escaped from a mental hospital of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, was arrested. Rasim Hajiyev was arrested on December 26 at a house in Abilov street in Khatai district of Baku, according to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
During a search of Hajiyev and a resident of Lerik region, at Malik Akhmedov’s house was found marijuana, one Kalashnikov rifle, one air pistol, one bayonet, and a box of 29 cartridges. Currently investigative actions are taken now necessary to determine the location and capture others who escaped from a mental hospital.
On November 15 at around 6:15 five people convicted of criminal offenses and under compulsory treatment escaped from a psychiatric hospital in Mashtaga. Among them were convicted of theft , fraud, robbery and misappropriation of official resident Binagadi Tural Abbasov , who was convicted of stealing Elvin Nasrullaev convicted of robbery , a resident of Khirdalan, Rasim Hajiyev and resident of Shbaran region, Yusif Maharramov.
They resisted the police of the Guard Department, Vasif Rzaguliev, and civil guard Tahir Dargyahov, used iron rods, broke open the lock and escaped.—16D06--

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
