Participants of Rally in Support of Mehman Huseynov Detained
Baku / 07.01.18 / Turan: A group of activists attempted to hold a picket in front of the Baku Court of Appeal an action in support of blogger Mehman Huseynov the day before.
Police stopped the action. One of the organizers, Mete Turksoy, and several other activists were detained and taken to the 28th precinct of the Yasamal district police department.
According to one of the participants of the rally, six people were detained, including journalists, and today they were brought to the Yasamal District Court.
Elchin Rahimzadeh, Ismail Islamoglu, Yashar Khaspoladov, Goshgar Ahmedov and another activist were also detained.
This was the second rally in defense of blogger Mehman Huseynov after bringing a new charge against him. The first action took place on January 3 and four of its participants were sentenced to administrative arrest. Four more people were fined. -03D-
