Party Umid Declares New Electoral Fraud in Constituency No 35

The district election commission (DEC) of the 35th Khatai Third Constituency partially upheld the complaint from the candidate, leader of Umid Igbal Aghazadeh and annulled the results of parliamentary elections on two sites. At the same time, it canceled the results of voting on three other areas, in which Aghazadeh gained the most votes.

On November 7 DEC considered the complaint of the leader of Umid to cancel the results of the voting at the 17th, 18th and 26th stations, where turnout in a fantastic way reached 99% and almost the same percentage was won by Araz Alizadeh, told Turan deputy chairman of Umid Anvar Aghazadeh. DEC partially granted the request of Aghazadeh and canceled the election results at the 18th and 26th places. However, almost simultaneously with that the CEC website gave information about the cancellation of the results of voting at the 5, 10 and 11th sections, where Aghazadeh gained the largest number of votes, respectively 460, 437 and 374 and surpassed Alizadeh 3-4 times. Thus, on the overall total Alizadeh is still in the lead ahead of Igbal Aghazadeh by only 600 votes.

According to Aghazadeh, CEC refers to a certain decision of the DEC.

According to him, the CEC at the request of the party Umid responded that the results on the website were adjusted based on the decision of the DEC. "The DEC says they did not take this decision. Indeed, in recent days, our representatives are constantly in the DEC and the abolition of elections in areas 5, 10 and 11 was not considered. In the DEC our member has a casting vote, and he is also not aware of the discussion of this issue. Neither the CEC nor the DEC explained who initiated the consideration of this issue," said Aghazadeh.

In his view, it is another blatant falsification at the 35th constituency.

The party Umid appealed to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to intervene and put an end to lawlessness in the 35th constituency, punish the perpetrators and bring justice. -06B--
