Pashazadeh: 20 January tragedy revived the statehood of Azerbaijan
On Monday, the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) held a ceremony of commemorating victims of the 20 January tragedy. The ceremony began with the reading of the Koran.
Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazade said that Azerbaijan's independence was achieved by the blood of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the people. The idea of independence of our country was born on 20 January 20, 1990, Pashazade said.
"In the 20 January tragedy are involved the world power centers, supporting the illusory idea of creating "Great Armenia," he said. The Kremlin insisted that the victims of 20 January were not called "martyrs", and tried to disrupt the solemn funeral with full honors. In the end of the ceremony was screened a film on 20 January tragedy, shot by the ANS TV company.-05C-
