People Working with Meydan TV Subjected to Tax Audit
People cooperating with the online resource Meydan TV are brought to a tax audit. According to the journalists Aynur Elgunesh and Ayten Farhadova, yesterday they were summoned to the Baku Tax Department and requested documents for review. They were ordered within 15 days to submit all the documents on their activities for the years 2012-15.
The basis for the tax audit was the presentation of the Chief of the Criminology Division of the Investigation Department on Grave Crimes of the General Prosecutor's Office Parviz Ibayev on September 23, 2015
The department considers that Meydan TV violated the requirement of the law on grants and the journalists that collaborated with it received an illegal income, evaded taxes, and therefore there is a need in the investigation.
Tax audits are imposed mainly on journalists with Taxpayer Identification Number. -16D-
