PFPA Activist Detained in Goychay
Baku / 06.07.20 / Turan: An activist of the Popular Front Party (PFPA) Gachai Gafarov was detained in the Goychay region on July 4.
He was detained by 4 people in civilian clothes when the activist grazed sheep in the village of Yalman, said the young man’s father, Alyshan Gafarov.
According to the man, he was told in the duty section of the regional police department that his son was detained for posting on Facebook, without specifying which and what kind of offense he was charged with. Today Gafarov will stand trial.
PFPA is convinced that the reason for the detention could be criticism of the police in social networks. So, on Police Day (July 1), Gafarov wrote that he would not congratulate the police because of their violence against citizens. —06D-
