Platform "Open Society" defended Mirvari Gahramanly
Baku/01.10.18/Turan: The Open Society Platform has condemned the lawsuit filed by Salyan Oil LTD against the Public Association for the Protection of the Rights of Oil Workers. In a statement by this public structure, the persecution of NGOs for its activities was described as contrary to the policies of President Ilham Aliyev, which encourages the "Open Government".
The statement also noted that the Public Association for the Protection of the Rights of Oilmen for many years has been professionally protecting the labor and other rights of citizens in the field of extractive industries. Therefore, the lawsuit of "Salyan Oil LTD" against the said NGO is regarded as an attempt to stifle critical voices.
"Salyan Oil LTD" filed lawsuits against its former employees Zakaat Abdullayeva and Mehpara Aliyeva, as well as the Public Association for the Protection of the Rights of Oil Workers for the protection of their rights. Claims were filed after two women themselves went to court, in which they challenged their dismissal, and the NGO helped them with this. -05D06-
