Polad Aslanov confirmed the continuation of the hunger strike
Baku/12.01.22/Turan: On Wednesday at 15:30, Polad Aslanov was given the opportunity to call his wife from jail N1.
“ I came to the jail to clarify the state of Polad, since he never called. I said that I would not go anywhere until I called. Only after that was he allowed to call,” Gulmira Aslanova said.
“Polad spoke with difficulty, he could hardly speak. He said that another prisoner with mental problems periodically visits him at the infirmary. He uses the ward as a toilet and it is impossible to be there.
Polad is deliberately kept in such an environment so that he cannot pray,” said his wife.
Today he was visited by employees of the ombudsman's office, who offered to end the hunger strike. A few minutes before their arrival, Polad was taken for a walk into the fresh air. The ombudsman officers themselves could have been in the first-aid post after putting on two masks.
Polad's health has worsened today: he has severe shortness of breath, dizziness, and occasionally vomits.
Nevertheless, he intends to continue the hunger strike, and from Monday he will refuse water, too, ”said the spouse. -06D-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
