Polad Aslanov told about the pressure in the jail
Baku/11.10.21/Turan: The imprisoned founder of the website xeberman.com Polad Aslanov told that he subjected to pressure in jail N1 after he made a statement in support of Niyameddin Ahmedov, a political prisoner, an activist of the Popular Front Party, said his wife Gulmira Aslanova.
“Polad called from the jail. He said that they are trying to isolate him from other prisoners, and those who communicate with him are beaten and put in a punishment cell. So, last week a prisoner named Panah was put in a punishment cell. They want to place Polad to a barrack for 200 people. This happened after Polad's statement of support for Niyameddin Ahmedov,” said his wife. According to her, Polad is currently being held in a room for 18 people.
“They want Polad to understand that if he does not stop criticizing the authorities and talking about the violation of prisoners' rights, then he will not have peace,” Aslanova said. It was not possible to obtain comments from the Penitentiary Service.
*On November 16, 2019, Polad Aslanov, the editor of the website xeberman.com was sentenced to 16 years in prison on charges of treason in favor of Iran.
