Polad Aslanov's wife informed about new provocations against her husband in the colony
Baku/30.05.22/Turan: Wife of journalist Polad Aslanov informed about new provocations against her husband in the colony number 1.
According to her, the prisoner who hit her husband on April 1, again commits provocations: this prisoner enters the cell where her husband is held and insults him with dirty, obscene words.
"Polad knows that this prisoner cooperates with the administration, and he demanded from the deputy chief to stop the provocations. In response, the deputy chief Chingiz Khadyev said: "Aren't you a man? You, too, scold him and hit him". They clearly want to provoke Polad into illegal actions," said Aslanova.
"They know very well that I will stage protests and criticize the heads of security agencies. Maybe someone benefits from publicly criticizing the leaders of the country," Aslanova said.
She noted that on May 31 she will go to the Penitentiary Service and demand a meeting with the heads of the Service.
"Either the Penitentiary Service itself is behind the provocations, or it is the work of higher circles. In any case the state is responsible for the safety, health and life of my husband, and I will demand from the state to comply with these obligations by all legal means available to me, including protest actions," Aslanova said.
She also pointed out that the Ombudsman's office has recently declined from responding to her requests to investigate complaints about provocations against her husband.
Polad Aslanov, the founder and head of xeberman.com, was arrested in June 2019 on charges of treason and sentenced to 16 years of imprisonment. Human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner. On February 24, the Supreme Court reduced his sentence to 13 years. -06В-
