Preliminary investigation in the case of football player Javid Huseynov is over
Preliminary investigation in the case of Javid Huseynov, football player of the FC "Gabala", who was involved in the death of journalist Rasim Aliyev, is over. In the coming days the case will be submitted to the court, reads the message of Baku Prosecutor's Office.
Reporter of the site ann.az Rasim Aliyev was beaten on 8 August by relatives of the player Javid Huseynov because of criticism on Facebook. With heavy grasses journalist was taken to City Clinical Center N1, where he died a day later.
Six peoplehave been arrested in the case of death of Rasim Aliyev. At the end of the investigation the case against Huseynov was separated from production. He is charged with Article 307.1 (not a report on the planned crime) and 307.2 (concealment of the crime) of the Criminal Code. However, the defense believes that Huseynov is the organizer of the crime.
The lawyer of the journalist’s family, Asabali Mustafayev regards illegal the separation of the case against Huseynov after the preliminary investigation has completed and the parties got acquainted with the case. This decision, according to Mustafayev, is further evidence of "promoting Javid Huseynov by the persecutor." "From the beginning we said that accusing Huseynov only "of concealing a crime," the prosecutor's office is helping him. Our suspicions are justified," said Mustafayev.
The case against the five accused of involvement in the journalist's death Aliyev was previously sent to the court. Kanan Madatov, Jamal Mammadov and Samir Mustafayev, charged under Article 126.3 (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm, negligently caused the death of the victim) will appear in the court. Two more accused Elshan Ismayilov and Arif Aliyev are accused of theft (Art. 177.1 of the Criminal Code). A preparatory meeting is scheduled for 5 January. -16/06D-

During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
