Preliminary investigation in the case of Hashimli is over
Ministry of National Security (MNS) completed investigation of the lawsuit against journalist Parviz Hashimli , his lawyer Fariz Namazly told Turan.
According to the lawyer , the investigator told the reporter that in the coming days he will be given materials for review, and then the case will be sent to trial .
The lawyer said that during the investigation Hashimli’s rights were grossly violated, and he was not allowed to meet his relatives. He has health problems, and the other day he was visited by representatives of the Red Cross.
• An employee of the newspaper "Bizim Yol" and the Head of the website moderator.az , Hashimli, was arrested on September 17, 2013 and accused of smuggling weapons by prior agreement and illegal possession of weapons. If the court finds him guilty, Hashimli may be imprisoned to five years.
The journalist denied the accusations, saying that he was arrested on concocted, politically motivated charges. The reason for his arrest became his refusal to make incriminating statements against the leader of the Popular Front Party, Ali Kerimli. -16D06-
