Azerbaijan writes that the country carries out a successful policy of an independent state, becoming a country of brands.
Azadlig cites the opinion of the lawyer Alasgar Mammadli of the Milli Majlis’s plans to ignore the decisions of the European Court. He believes that this initiative cannot be carried out in accordance with Article 151 of the Constitution, responsible for legally binding the international institutions. Mammadli says the government might pass a constitutional law on the matter, but it would lead to serious consequences, such as the isolation of Azerbaijan.
Novoye Vremya writes that Azerbaijan does not lose hope to increase the price of "black gold", and such statements are made by members of the government. It attaches great importance to the projects TAP and TANAP, which will supply gas to Europe.
Yeni Musavat writes about the mass withdrawal of deposits from banks by people. The author believes the reason for that is public distrust to banks.
The Central Bank says nothing about the sum of deposits withdrawn, but the expert Akram Hasanov notes that since December 2015 the population has withdrawn 3.1 billion mantas from banks. Only in December they withdrew 540 million manats.
Bizim Yol writes that the three state programs have been unable to resolve the unemployment problem. The billions invested in the regions have not given tangible results, so the government is looking for ways out of the situation.
The expert Nemat Aliyev says Azerbaijan's population lives on funds received from Turkey and Russia. He also believes the country needs to create a transparent environment for the development of entrepreneurship.—0--
