The Azerbaijan writes that President Ilham Aliyev made a new initiative of cooperation. The author narrates about the appeals voiced by the head of state at the IV World Forum of Intercultural Dialogue held in Baku on May 5-6. Over 800 guests from 120 countries and more than 50 international structures took part in the event.
The Echo published an article titled "Up to one and a half million poor people in Azerbaijan". According to official statistics, the poverty level reaches 5.5%, but in reality it reaches 15%.
The number of poor people is growing because of the unstable economic situation in the country.
The number of chronically malnourished in 2016 was 1.7% of the population or about 150 thousand people.
In 3.1% of children under the age of 5 years, there is a deficit of weight, and in 18% - a slowdown in development. The infant mortality rate is 3.2%.
The Yeni Musavat writes about the tax debt of Azerenergy, which is 360 million manats. The author writes about a dangerous trend - an increase in the volume of debts taken under state guarantees. The international rating agency Fitch considers the forecasts to be negative. The reason is the close strategic cooperation of Azerenergy with the government.
Thus, at the end of 2015, the Ministry of Finance provided guarantees for 91% of Azerenergy's debts. This means that in case of difficulties with payment of debts of this structure, they will be paid under state guarantees.
