Press Review 24/11/14

Official newspapers publish the text of amendments to a number of laws and regulations.

Azadlig writes about the possibility of a ban on the sale of the energy drinks Red Bull and Jaguar in Azerbaijan, in which Cahan Holding is engaged. The newspaper regards it as a blow to the head of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov, controlling the holding company.

The paper also recalls the expiration of 3 years from the date of the murder of the journalist Rafig Taghi, which has not been disclosed.

The "prisoner of conscience" Tofig Yagublu denounced the pro-government NGO representatives for the destruction of the stand on the problem of political prisoners in Azerbaijan during an international event. The newspaper criticizes the statement by the Yeni Musavat editor Rauf Arifoglu that this stand was set up ostensibly by the pro-Armenian organization People in Need. Thus, "the chief editor, saving the authorities, sank himself," writes the columnist for Azadlig, alluding to Arifoglu’s cooperation with the authorities.

The newspaper reports of detentions of believers in Nakhchivan.
