Press Review December 25, 2017
The promotion of the Made in Azerbaijan brand, New Year holidays for citizens, and the situation with tariffs for water and electricity are the leading topics of today's press.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the successful economic policy of President Ilham Aliyev and propaganda of the brand Made in Azerbaijan.
Ten export missions have already been organized in 10 countries.
During the year local entrepreneurs exported non-oil products for AZN 2.7 million.
The newspaper Echo published an article titled How Much Do People Spend on Leisure in Azerbaijan Every Month? According to statistics, people spend 5-10% of their income on entertainment - movies, restaurants and theaters. By the way, sociologists are sure that the more negative the environment, the more one wants to distract, chat with friends and have a good time.
Food plays a key role in this process. People can easily do without going to the movies and download a new movie to their computer, but spending an evening in a company with wine and snacks is almost sacred for them. In our country, on average, a person must get at least 500 manats, so that he can afford to sometimes go to the theater, cinema, or cafe.
Now many young people can afford only this kind of leisure, like visiting a tea house, playing a game of backgammon and dominoes. But there are regulars of theaters and museums that visit them at least once a month.
The Novoye Vremya newspaper published an article on the expected increase in electricity tariffs, despite assurances from the Minister of Finance that the government is not going to raise electricity tariffs. The government is concerned about the possible discontent of customers. Given this and the deteriorating financial situation of the population, a compromise is necessary. In short, the authorities promised not to raise prices for light and water. However, experts doubt that.
