Prison Service: State of Leyla Yunus Normal
The Prison Service has denied the statement of lawyers on the deteriorating health status of the human rights activist Leyla Yunus.
"Reports of health problems at Leyla Yunus are unfounded. Leyla Yunus is in a normal state of health, any there are no issues of concern for her health," the public relations department of the the Prison Service told Turan.
Recall that last Saturday the lawyer Elchin Gambarov reported a sharp deterioration in the health of the arrested human rights activist Leyla Yunus.
According to him, she suffers disintegration of the liver, and faces serious drops of blood pressure and breakdown as a result of chronic malnutrition. Since the arrest Yunus has lost 10 kg of weight.
Leyla Yunus and her husband Arif are accused of espionage in favor of Armenia, but the true cause of their persecution, according to human rights defenders, is actualization of the problem of political prisoners and calls for international organizations to boycott the upcoming Baku European Games. -03C06-
