Professor Adil Geybulla visited Saleh Rustamov
Baku/08.12.21/Turan: The health of the political prisoner Saleh Rustamov, who is on hunger strike for 33 days, continues to deteriorate. In recent days, he has been losing weight by 600 grams every day, said his lawyer Bahruz Bayramov. On December 7, an independent doctor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Adil Geybulla met with Rustamov at the Medical Institution of the Penitentiary Service. According to him, Rustamov is receiving supportive treatment.
“It greatly helped in the restoration of health,” Geybulla said, adding that he got acquainted with the results of the examination and tests. According to the doctor, the test indicators give reason to believe that today there is no threat to Rustamov's life. “Of course, as a doctor, I recommended that he stop the hunger strike. However, he makes decisions himself, and we cannot interfere in this," Geybulla continued.
He, together with the doctors of the institution, held a consultation. Today his brother Taleh Rustamov met with Saleh. According to him, S. Rustamov's health is grave. “Saleh has severe joint pain. Another prisoner was placed with him. When he takes food on Saleh, it does badly. Saleh cannot sleep at night,” T. Rustamov said. According to him, S. Rustamov lost 18 kg. compared to the beginning of the hunger strike and now weighs 51 kg.
