Baku/01.06.22/Turan: Main Department for Struggle against Corruption under Prosecutor General's Office investigates the criminal case against two employees of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.
The joint report of Prosecutor General's Office and Ministry of Economy says that in 2020-2021 the head of tax department №6 and senior inspector of the same department Zakir Kazimov received twice a bribe of 20,000 manats from a citizen. The bribe was given in exchange for not taking measures due to the revealed tax violations.
Mirjavad Khashimov and Zakir Kazimov were brought as defendants under Criminal Code Articles 308.2 (abuse of office); 311.3.1 (bribery by a group of persons) and 311.3.3 (bribe on a large scale). By court order, both were arrested. -02D-

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads. Efforts to extinguish the fire are still ongoing.
