Protest action in front of Labour and Social Security Ministry
Baku/03.12.21/Turan: About 50 people today held a rally in front of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. They protested against the deprivation of disability pensions and demanded that they be provided with jobs.
"Let them either restore my disability pension or provide me with a job. I have been deprived of my pension for 11 months now. How are we supposed to live?" asked one of the protesters.
Another protester said that his child was disabled from birth but was denied a pension when he reached the age of 18.
The protesters criticised the policy of the authorities as saying that there was "no fair system of governance", "violation of citizens' rights" and "arbitrariness".
Although representatives of the protesters were received by the Ministry of Labour, they remained dissatisfied with meeting results, as they were given no guarantees of the solution to their problems.-06D-
