Railway Guidelines on Measures to Address the Problems of Displaced Workers
Baku/16.05.22/Turan: CJSC Azerbaijan Railways announced measures on payments to laid-off workers. A message on the website of CJSC "Azerbaijan Railways" says that against the backdrop of the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy, the volume of work and passenger traffic on "Azerbaijan Railways" has decreased. At the same time, some employees were not involved, there were downtime. This affected 2,000 out of 18,000 employees of the "Azerbaijan Railways".
At the same time, during the entire period of the pandemic and until recently, idle workers were paid monthly salaries, for which 10 million manats were spent. However, the current economic situation at "Azerbaijan Railways" requires taking measures to improve the industry, and in particular, minimizing the consequences of debt restructuring, optimizing costs, bringing the number of employees in line with the volume of work.
According to Article 169 of the Labor Code, the salary of employees who find themselves in idle time is paid in the amount of 2/3 of their official salary. To ensure the employment of employees who are threatened with dismissal, negotiations were held with the relevant government agencies and agreements were reached on involving them in work at the DOST Work Centers.
At the same time, before being transferred to another job, they will be paid the due wages during downtime in the amount of 2/3 of their salary. At the same time, through the DOST Work Centers, they will be paid lump-sum benefits in the amount of five times the official salary.
It should be noted that this message was published on the website of CJSC ARW after today's protest of conductors demanding higher wages. –06В-
