REAL Activist Cannot Get Answer from Prosecutor’s Office
A member of the Board of the Republican Alternative Movement (REAL) Azer Gasimov was not released from the country by the Border Guard Service on September 28.
The reason for this was the ban imposed by the Prosecutor General Office of the country. However, the prosecutor office does not explain the prohibition.
Gasimov has written a formal appeal to Prosecutor General Office department for serious crimes with the requirement to explain on what basis the prosecutor's office banned him from leaving the country.
“The ban is absolutely illegal. With respect to me there is no criminal case or court decision. This is a complete outrage,” Gasimov told Turan.
Recall that all the REAL board members previously were interrogated in the prosecutor's office after police confiscated posters with the image of the movement’s leader, the arrested Ilgar Mammadov. Among those interrogated also was Azer Gasimov. Apparently, this gave the prosecutor's office the right to impose a ban on their leave.
The Prosecutor General's Office would not comment on the matter. -03B-
