Baku/01.06.20/Turan: On June 1, a group of internally displaced persons (IDP) held a protest rally in front of the State Committee for Refugees. The IDP complained that they did not receive an apartment in the Gobu-3 residential complex that was commissioned the other day.

Refugees stated that they have been fed promises for years, they have been renting apartments for a long time, and now they do not have money for it. In addition, the apartments are distributed unfairly.

The head of the State Refugees Rovshan Rzayev, who met with the refugees, told reporters that the protesters were promised that they would be provided with housing in the Absheron region before the end of the year.

He emphasized that the process of housing construction for internally displaced persons continues. “There are only 1336 apartments in Gobu-3, and 52,000 internally displaced people live in Baku. Of these, 23 854 live in family hostels, unfinished buildings, schools, kindergartens, and sanatoriums. They will be resettled first. A roadmap has been developed on this occasion.

By September, apartment buildings in the villages of Ramana, Khojasan, and Sumgait will be completed; 3084 apartments will be commissioned. Along the roads in Mashtaga-Kurdakhany apartments for 576 families will be built. A village for 270 families will be created in the village of Surahani, and the apartments will be distributed fairly, Rzayev said.

The action ended without incident. — 06D-
