Baku/21.07.23/Turan: Officers of the Astara police department stopped an attempt to launch into illegal circulation about 46 kg of narcotic drugs smuggled from Iran, the Lankaran regional group of the press service of the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
During the police operation carried out in the village of Sym, Astara region, a resident of Lankaran, Elkhan Hasanov, was detained.
During the search of the trunk of his car, 20 kg of opium, 20 kg of marijuana, 5 kg of heroin, 1 kg of methamphetamine, 2000 methadone tablets were found.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Hasanov organized the supply of drugs through an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established by the investigation.
In fact, a criminal case has been opened under the relevant Article of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against Hasanov by a court decision. -05b06-
