Resident of the demolished building sued the developer
Baku / 03.04.18 / Turan: Citizen Sabina Jafarova, living in Nasimi district of Baku, at the address: Suleiman Rustam, 5, filed a lawsuit in the First Economic Court against the construction company Grand Plaza. Jafarova demands that this company stop the destruction of the five-story apartment house in which she lives.
Grand Plaza Ltd. received from the Executive Power of Nasimi District the right to build a new multi-storey residential building on the site of the old building as part of the "pilot project" for the renovation of the housing stock in Baku. The apartments of tenants who agreed with the conditions of the company are quickly destroyed, not only the roof and utilities, but even the supporting walls, are being demolished, endangering the safety of people living above the destroyed apartments.
"The family demands that the destruction of the building be stopped until all our neighbors leave, signing a contract with the company. On April 5th the judge will read out the decision. If the court does not protect our rights, immediately after S.Jafarova the suit will be filed by another neighbor, then the third, etc., about 15 citizens in our building," Sabina's brother Samir Jafarov said.
"Our goal is to stop the destruction of the building, while at least one family remains in it. We want to save our lives. They agree to accept the terms of the company, but until people leave the building, the destruction must be stopped," Jafarov added.
The plaintiff's lawyer is Matlab Gasimov.
