Shahin Hasanli: nobody oppresses Sunni
Statements about the pressure on the Sunnis in Azerbaijan are unfounded, Turan was told by Shahin Hasanli, the head of the mosque community "Meshedi Dadash" Shahin Hasanli , commenting on the statement of the members of the community of “Lazgi mosque.”
He said that measures are taken against radical religious movements. This question is related to the issue of security of the country, and the attempt to link it with religion is an indicator of ignorance, believes Hasanli. He noted that representatives of radical movements do not recognize themselves as such, presenting themselves Sunnis.
Hasanli reminded that in the issue of sending Azerbaijani believers to Syria was mentioned Mushfigabad mosque. Then was replaced the head of the mosque, and a Sunni was appointed there. Under such a situation it is impossible to talk about the oppression of Sunnis, he said. "When state laws are violated, the state begins to interfere and implement security measures," said Hasanli.
"Representatives of various religious sects pray in mosques in Azerbaijan, and no one tells them why they do not pray in a particular mosque, there have never been a discrimination," he said.
All the talk about the oppression of the Sunnis are unfounded, and are aimed at inciting religious hatred, Hasanli is sure.
Press conference of community representatives "Lazgi mosque" took place on April 17. They argued that in Azerbaijan there is religious discrimination and oppression of the Sunnis. -05B04-
