The production at the Silk Mill JSC Sheki Ipek has been fully stopped. Since yesterday, all the employees of the company - about 600 people – have been sent to an unpaid leave. Prior to this, the employees were given a salary in May alone. Turan was told by the staff of the enterprise, it is not reported when the company will resume.
The plant has not produced silk for long. Instead, it has produced cotton products only focused on export to Russia and Turkey. The volume of production has fallen.
We did not manage to get an official comment from the management of the plant and in the Ministry of Economy and Development.
According to unofficial data, Sheki Ipek is one of the debtors of JSC International Bank of Azerbaijan, and is associated with the former head of the IBA Jahangir Hajiyev. -06D-
