Shirinov Brothers Awarded in Azerbaijan for Their Brave Act in Ukraine
Baku / 01.02.19 / Turan: The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree awarding the brothers Sabir and Umud Shirinov with the medal "For Courage".
As noted in the document, they were awarded "for the courage shown in saving people whose lives were in danger."
The brothers Umud and Sabir Shirinov on January 19 rescued a family injured in an accident in the Ukrainian Nikolayev city. So, when the Shirinovs saw a burning passenger car turned upside down on the side of the road, they rushed to help. Risking their lives, they pulled a man, a woman, and their child out of the burning car. Moreover, they took the victims in an ambulance to hospital and provided them with financial assistance.

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
