Sixteen Azerbaijani citizens repatriated from Syria
Baku/25.11.22/Turan: Sixteen Azerbaijani citizens, including thirteen children and three women, who were accommodated in the camps in Syria have been repatriated to Azerbaijan. This was reported by the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on November 24.
According to the Ministry, the whereabouts, identity and Azerbaijani citizenship of the repatriated people were established. Then they were sent to Turkey where they underwent a preliminary medical and psychological examination by Azerbaijani doctors.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkey then provided the returnees with return certificates and air tickets.
The Azerbaijani government intends to take all necessary measures to reintegrate and rehabilitate the returnees, the press release said.
Recall that in recent years, 409 Azerbaijani citizens, including 380 children and 29 women have been repatriated to their homeland from Syria and Iraq, the report said. -06D-
