Baku/24.05.23/Turan: A serviceman of the Azerbaijani army, soldier Davud Fuad oglu Mammadli died as a result of an accident during service, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported on the morning of May 24.
An investigation is underway due to the soldier's death, the military department noted. According to local media reports, the soldier died from a lightning strike. The incident happened in one of the military units on the territory of Dashkesan region. -06B-

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
