A number of prominent international media were denied accreditation to work in Azerbaijan on the eve of parliamentary elections in November 1st. Among them are the world's leading media and agencies, sais informed source.
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry does not give a clear explanation on the matter, said the same source. Some were refused, despite the pre-agreed interview on purely economic topics with officials. As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
