Son Gyulaliev threatened in the Czech Republic

Baku/24.05.18/Turan: Aligushad Gyulaliyev ,the son of human rights activist Ogtay Gyulaliyev, was convicted in 2013 on the basis of a trumped-up charge. After the completion of the suspended sentence, he was summoned to the police several times and threatened with new persecution. The young man was forced to flee to Georgia and further to Europe.

On October 10, 2018, he was deported from Germany to the city of Havirov, Czech Republic. "After living here for a while, I realized that people of the Azerbaijani government were following me," the statement of May 24 says.

For the first time he felt the shadowing on May 7 from the side of two persons. After 2 days, he again noticed the same guys who followed him from the camp to the center of the city.

"I found out in one of them a man who was actively following me in Tbilisi.

On May 26, 2017 in Tbilisi, he attacked me, but fortunately, I was able to escape," Gulaliyev said. At the same time he reminds that in 3 days journalist Afgan Mukhtarli was kidnapped in Tbilisi.

"On May 10, 2018, I went to the Police Department and reported on the surveillance.

Unfortunately, the police did not find the danger serious. After much talk, the police did not give me any guarantees. At present, I seriously fear for myself," Gyulaliyev said.

He further points out that his father Oktay Gyulaliyev announced on April 16 a report "European dossier" about the persecution of political emigrants and their relatives in Azerbaijan. After that, he was summoned for a conversation in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and stated that if he published the report, his son would have problems in the Czech Republic. The officer also warned that the son of a human rights defender can be brought to Azerbaijan, as well as A.Mukhtarly.

"Despite all these threats, my father published a report. The processes that have begun after that prove that the Azerbaijani authorities are planning to fulfill their threats," Gulaliyev said. -06B--
