Tair Salakhov is buried in the Alley of Honor
Baku/24.05.21/Turan: People's Artist of the USSR and Azerbaijan, Hero of Socialist Labor, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts, Tair Salakhov was buried on May 24 at the Alley of Honor-1.
The funeral was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture, scientists and cultural figures, and family members of the deceased.
Wreaths on behalf of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva were placed on Salakhov's grave.
Tair Salakhov was born on November 29, 1928 in Baku. After graduating from high school in 1945-1950, he studied at the Azim Azimzade Azerbaijan Art School, and in 1951-1957, he continued his studies at the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute. He is considered a bright artist of the school of socialist realism.—0—

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
