The arrested blogger Rashad Agaaddin is tortured
Active user of facebook Ramazanov Rashad (Rashad Hagigat Agaaddin) , who is being kept since May 9 in the Chief Directorate to Combat Organized Crime (CDCOC) of the Interior Ministry is subjected to torture, Turan was told by the lawyer Rovsan Shiraliev.
The lawyer was able to visit him.
"I could not see his body. However, there were bruised and wounds on his head and hands.
Torture, physical and psychological pressure was so strong that the Rashad Ramazanov tried to commit suicide," said the lawyer. According to him, they promised to transfer Ramazanov to jail, but thereis not exact information about that yet.
Ramazanov is charged under Article 234.4.3 (illegal possession and sale of drugs on a large scale), and on May 10, Narimanov district court arrested him for three months.
The blogger was arrested on May 9 at the metro station "20 January". It is stated that police found nine grams of heroin with Ramazanov. However, the Ramazanov denied the accusation, saying that the drugs were planted. The blogger is well known for harsh criticism of the Azerbaijani authorities in the facebook.
On May 17 the lawyer Aslan Ismailov stated about the threat to Ramazanov’s life in connection, because the lawyer was not allowed to meet with him.
In turn, Orhan Mansurzade, the employee of the press service of the Interior Ministry said that CDCOC is under monitoring by the Ombudsman and the Committee against Torture, and the conditions there meet the European standards.
"Allegations of the lawyer about torture is a lie," said the representative of the Interior Ministry. —03B06-
