The information about the meeting and the chief executive of Yasamal district with a group of elders' of the street was not confirmed. According to the residents of the street, there was not even such a meeting.
Street residents are insistent on their demands for fair compensation issue. They note that the main topic of discussion is a small housing, the owners of which under the current compensation will be left without apartments.
"Sovetskaya"is not only a space where we live, it's a way of life. It has its traditions, and everyone knows each other and help when there is a common joy and grief. Under such situation it is impossible to remain indifferent to the fate of neighbors with whom they lived for so many years," said one of the residents.
People expect that the authorities will keep to their promises to consider their demands, and the minimum payment has been increased or the same people will be provided with decent housing.
Otherwise, they are going to hold a protest.
The authorities are preparing to demolish housing in the "Sovetskaya", which will affect more than 10,000 families.

During the action, on February 16 deputy Yasamal district, Samad Islamov, said that compensation would be fair, and without the consent of the owners not any house will be demolished. -05B04-

The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
