Baku/05.03.22/Turan: The war with Ukraine, the closure of enterprises, companies, hotels, the blocking of social networks, the ban on leading free media, the collapsed economy, police repression against dissent and the threat of general mobilization are pushing Russians out of the country. The flow of Russian citizens who have taken one-way tickets to Europe, Israel, Georgia, and the United Arab Emirates is increasing.

The Euronews TV channel is broadcasting a report from Finland, where an express train from the Russian Federation still arrives. The host says that this is the last transport from Russia. Russians get out of the cars with luggage, which shows that the trip is one way. There are reports of a mass exodus from the Russian Federation of citizens who are afraid of military mobilization and poverty, and some leave for moral reasons.

Not everyone can leave the Russian Federation; the Russian Garant system works against some. The website of the system warns: those who have access to state secrets cannot leave; performs military or alternative civilian service; suspected or charged with a crime; convicted of a crime; evades obligations imposed by the court; provided knowingly false information when drawing up travel documents; is an employee of the FSB.

"On the sixth day of the "special operation" in Ukraine, we - at least some of us - were seized by panic. It seems that there are no chats and companies left where departure would not be discussed - we laugh it off, they say, on an unplanned unpaid vacation. The goals are unclear , intentions too - there are rumors about a possible mobilization, which are not confirmed by anyone, but not that they are actively refuted ...

...there are changes in the amount of luggage - passengers now either have no bags at all, or there are a lot of them. And the number of animals immediately catches the eye. Every ten minutes you can hear howling or barking of dogs. It becomes clear that pets are a distinctive feature by which one can identify those who are considering leaving for a long time" (the-village.ru).

In fact, the flight of the intelligent stratum of the population did not begin now. Levada Center reported in July 2021 that every fifth resident of the Russian Federation (22 percent or almost 32 million people) would like to go abroad for permanent residence. In 2017, 15 percent of respondents held this view. Most of those who want to leave forever are young. But then Putin did not attack Russia, and did not shoot at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant ...

Four to five million Russians left the country between 2000 and 2020. In 2021, more than 275 thousand citizens of this country left the Russian Federation. Migration flows were divided equally between the CIS countries and non-CIS countries, mainly Europe and North America,  stated the study of the project "To be precise", based on data from Rosstat. Putin became president on December 31, 1999. In recent years, among the countries where Russians seek permanent residence, China has been the leader, India, Turkey, Vietnam are also popular.--0--
