The Chief Executive wants to punish a lawyer
Baku/26.01.18/Turan: Ramiz Yediarov, the head of the executive power of the Gedebay region, appealed to the Bar and asked to punish the lawyer Elchin Sadygov. According to the Radio Azadlig, Sadigov said, the complaint is related to the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs of the Gedebay region. Entrepreneurs claim that their rights are violated in courts and state structures.
According to E.Sadygov, he appealed to the relevant structures in connection with the offenses, which entrepreneurs are talking about. "I filed a complaint with the relevant structures and the head of state in connection with the violations faced by entrepreneurs whose rights I defend. I asked to take the necessary measures.
This is my right as a lawyer. It is because of my complaint that the head of the executive power of Gedaeay region, Ramiz Yediyarov, applied to the Board of the Bar Association. The Board started disciplinary execution against me," said the lawyer. Until now, several lawyers involved n political trials have been excluded from the Bar Association on the basis of complaints from various structures.
The last time, at the beginning of this week, the activity of lawyer Fakhraddin Mehdiyev was terminated for a year. On 20 November last year he Board of the Bar Association decided to file a lawsuit against the removal of Yalchin Imanov from this structure. With regard to F.Mehdiyev, the decision was made on the basis of the complaint of the Prosecutor General's Office, and in respect of Yalchin Imanov on the basis of the leadership of the Penitentiary Service.
The Prosecutor General's Office claimed that the lawyer had spread the secret of the investigation, and the Prison Service had protested against the dissemination by the lawyer of information about torture in the prison of one of the defendants' lawyers. So far, several lawyers - Khalid Bagirov, Alaif Hasanov and others have been expelled from the Board. The lawyers themselves explain this by saying that they take part in the political trails, protecting the interests of "political prisoners".
However, the Board denies this, pointing to other reasons. To date, only a few lawyers continue to defend the rights of persons whose rights are violated for political reasons. -0-
