The child died at the hands of a coach in sambo classes
Baku/02.05.23/Turan: In the gymnasium of Full Secondary School No. 19 in Sumgayit, a tragic incident occurred on April 30th during a sambo class taught by Mehman Khalilov.
The teacher, who is a medalist of the European Games and a master of sports, used violence against several children in the class, including a 7-year-old child who was thrown, dragged by the hair, and lifted by the neck until he lost consciousness.
Sadly, the child, Farid Bakarov, born in 2016, did not survive despite being taken to the hospital.
The Ministry of Science and Education commented on the incident, stating that the deceased child had been involved in unregistered training on the initiative of Khalilov, despite being underage.
Surveillance camera footage showed that the coach treated the children roughly. As a result, law enforcement agencies have initiated a criminal case against Khalilov under Article 126.3 of the Criminal Code for intentionally causing serious harm to health, resulting in the death of the victim by negligence.
The court ordered that Khalilov be detained for four months as a preventive measure.--0-
