The cleanest air in Baku is in Absheron
Baku / 04.07.19 / Turan: The laboratory of air quality at Khazar University conducted in June a monitoring of open air quality in Baku and suburban settlements. Monitoring results in accordance with the European Air Quality Index are measured with consideration of ground-based ozone, nitrogen dioxide, heavy sedimentary materials and sulfur dioxide. According to the index, air quality was assessed on a five-point scale - "very good", "good", "average", "bad" and "very bad". At the same time, 1 point means "very good" level, 5 - "very bad".
Measurements in the metro stations of the capital showed the following results:
Neftchilar District - 5
District "Gara Garayev" - 4
District "Koroglu" - 5
District "N.Narimanov" - 4
District "Ganjlik" - 5
District "May 28" - 4
District "Sahil" - 5
District "Icheri Sheher" - 4
District "Nizami" - 5
District "January 20" - 5
District "Memar Ajemi" - 5
Khatai District - 4
City Khirdalan - 4
Village Buzovna - 1.
Thus, the cleanest air was on the northern coast of Absheron (Buzovna, Bilgya, Nardaran). Cars play a big role in air pollution. If in 1990 there were 22,000 cars in Azerbaijan, now there are 1 million 200 thousand. This greatly increases the emissions of harmful substances into the air of the capital. According to the WHO, annually in the world 4.2 million people die from polluted air and another 3.8 million from bad air at home. -30C--
