Baku/24.05.22/Turan: This year, a quota for 680 people has been allocated to pilgrims to Mecca from Azerbaijan. The cost of the hajj to Saudi Arabia will be $5,350 per person, Turan was told at the Caucasus Muslims Office. The acceptance of documents for sending on the Hajj pilgrimage begins on May25.
The conditions for admission to the pilgrimage are the presence of a double vaccination against COVID-19, the submission of a negative PCR test no later than 72 hours before departure.

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads.
