The human rights activist Taleh Hasmamedov was arrested on Thursday by Goychay Regional Court for three months, according to activist Oktay Gyulaliyev.
Hasmamedovis charged under Article 221.2 of the Criminal Code (repeated hooliganism.) Protection intends to appeal the court's decision on remand.
The courthouse was taken under heavy police protection. The chief of the regional police roughly pushed the mother of human rights activists who tried to enter the courtroom. In protest, the accused's brother cut his hands.
After the court hearing the police dispersed several dozen local activists before the court.
Meanwhile, local activists managed to find out the identity of the person who has arranged a provocation against Hasmamedova two days ago. It is Zair Azizov, who works closely with the police. He used to be a witness in 10 cases. In addition, on the day of his arrest, he was seen in a cafe, which Hasmamedov attends. This gave reason to believe that Azizov was watching Hasmamedov.

According to Gyulaliyev, it was a planned provocation against the activist. "The detention of Thale Khasmamedov was planned provocation. Police were sent to the site of the incident in advance. We will present it to the media and let the public see how it all happened," said Gyulaliyev.
Meanwhile, local observers believe that the customer of the arrest may be the new head of Goychay Mubariz Agayev. He was appointed to this position on 27 January. And on February 8 Khasmamedov wrote on his page on Facebook that Agayev, on the occasion of his appointment, arranged a solemn meeting, to which people were gathered "for hire".
