The court left the PFPA activist in custody
Baku / 10.08.20 / Turan: On Monday the Baku Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Nasimi court on the arrest of an activist of the Popular Front party Mushfig Guliyev.
The activist was arrested on July 30 on charges of participating in riots during a demonstration in Baku in support of the army on July 14-15. The Nasimi court arrested him for 3 months on charges of violating public order, disobeying the police and damaging other people's property.
According to the lawyer Hafiz Hasanov, no evidence was presented at the trial in the illegal actions of Mushfig Guliyev.
The repressions against members of the Popular Front Party began after the famous speech of Ilham Aliyev on the eve of Novruz. On July 15, after Aliyev's next speech, they continued with renewed vigor. During this period, 47 members of the Popular Front Party were detained, 12 of them were released, criminal cases were initiated against 17, and the rest were arrested in an administrative manner. -03-
