The Court of Appeal releases Guler Ahmadova
Baku/05.04.14/Turan : Baku Court of Appeals released the ex-deputy Guler Ahmadova convicted for three years in prison for fraud and concealment of crimes.
Referring to the Article 70 of the Criminal Code , the court replaced the real sentence by probation assigning three years trial period. During this period, the convicted person must prove his own behavior correction. Ahmadova was prosecuted in connection with the scandalous video clip on sale of mandates spread by former rector of Azerbaijan International University ( AIU) Elshad Abdullayev.
Abdullayev said that Ahmadova in exchange for $ 1 million promised to provide his election a deputy.—16D—
