The Court of Appeal sent Abbas Huseyn to Gobustan prison
Baku/30.05.23/Turan: Family members of Abbas Huseyn, the convicted activist of the Muslim Unity Movement, held a protest rally in front of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan on May 30.
They protested against the court's decision to send Huseyn from the jail to a covered Gobustan prison for a year.
"We demand the cancellation of this decision and ensuring its safety. Abbas has been repeatedly beaten and tortured in recent months," his mother Rahima Huseynova said. Police officers escorted the protesters to the reception of the Prosecutor General's Office.
It should be noted that today the Baku Court of Appeal did not satisfy Huseyn's complaint and upheld the decision to transfer him to the Gobustan prison.
The defense believes that the court violated Huseyn's right under the Article 6 (right to a fair trial) The European Convention and intends to file a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court.
