The court rejected the claim of the Ministry of Finance against NGOs
Baku / 02.10.18 / Turan: The court did not satisfy the claim of the Ministry of Finance against the Public Association of Economic Education "Modern World", Turan was told by the lawyer Elchin Mamed, who was the legal representative of the said NGO at the trial. According to him, the Ministry of Finance considered that the NGO did not submit a financial report for 2017, and thus violated the Article 462 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which results in a large monetary fine. However, the judge of the Sumgayit City Court, Fikret Aliyev, ruled in favor of NGOs, finding that the actions of NGOs did not contain an element of an administrative offense. Thus, the NGO officially notified the tax authority of the absence of activity during the reporting period. According to Mamed, the Ministry of Finance likewise enforced a fine from the Hatun Women's Assistance Association. -06C-
