The court released footballer, who was convicted for the death of journalist
Baku Court of Appeal today released the player Javid Huseynov, who was involved in the death of journalist Rasim Aliyev. The Court of Appeal credited as the sentence time spent in detention and the player has been released , said his lawyer Adem Mammadov. Huseynov was arrested in August 2015 on charges of misprision about a planned crime. The talk is about brutal beating of journalist Aliyev by Huseynov’s cousin and a group of other persons because the journalist Rasim Aliyev criticized Huseinov in facebook. Aliyev died from injuries the next day in hospital.
Five people participated in the beating of Aliyev, and were sentenced to long prison terms. Huseynov’s case was separated, and he was sentenced in June to four years in prison.
Father of the journalist Mammadali Aliyev called the court decision "incomprehensible." "We did not agree with the fact that Javid Huseynov was arrested for" not a reporting the crime. "He was the organizer of the crime. He is a murderer of our son," said Aliyev.
According to Aliyev, the relatives of the journalist will not reconcile with Huseynov.
Aliyev said that on May 27 Huseynov’s uncle came with a request for conciliation. He said that after consultations with lawyers he will take appropriate steps.
Huseynov also does not consider himself guilty, and generally denied any involvement in the murder of a journalist. -16B--
