A 68-year-old Bunyatov, was detained five days after a special operation in Nardaran on November 26, 2015. In court, he claimed torture after being detained and broken ribs.
Subsequently, he was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison under several articles of the Criminal Code.
Human rights activists recognized him, as well as other persons involved in the Nardaran affair, as a political prisoner.
In prison, he developed a kidney disease. His vision is worsening due to exacerbation of diabetes. He suffers from heart disease, and walks with difficulty.
Doctors of the Penitentiary Service Medical Institution examined Bunyatov in jail No. 7 a week ago and recommended that he be hospitalized urgently. However, the prescription of the doctors was not executed.
