The health of Tofig Yagublu is critical
Baku / 16.09.20 / Turan: The health of the opposition politician Tofig Yagublu, who is on hunger strike for 15 days, is critical, said his daughter Nigar Hazi, who spoke to her father on the phone today.
“His health is very bad. He is terribly weak. The father said that he could not get up without help and could see poorly even with glasses,” Hazi wrote on her facebook page.
Today again blood samples have been taken from him for analysis. The results are very poor and a transfusion is needed.
“The doctor said that there is a risk to life and at any moment we can lose him,” said Hazi.
According to her, her father said, “I am already dying. I have no strength, I don’t know how long I will live.”
In turn, Dr. Adil Geybulla told Turan that despite the insistent calls of doctors, Yagublu continues the action.
“In connection with his health, certain measures are being taken, but the hunger strike has been going on for the third week. The body will use up all resources and the body weakens,” the doctor said.
Answering the question how long Yagublu can hold out, he replied that at this stage a gradual loss of consciousness may occur, after which the person falls into a coma.
In the event of a collapse, doctors will be forced to carry out compulsory intervention.
Geybulla hopes that Yagublu will be able to convince not to resort to dry hunger strike. He expressed confidence that legal issues will be resolved and the preventive measure will be changed. — 06D-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
